What "major" stressors did you experience as an adolescent? Did you feel comfortable in talking to your parents about your situation? If not, was there another trusting adult you could go to? How did you cope with, or what stress management technique did you use, during this "major" stressor?

Imagine you are an adolescent transitioning from elementary to middle school. Your parents had to move to a low SES area because of loss of job. Explain the common traits of transition, then take into consideration moving from high SES to low SES environment. What adjustments would you have to make? What are some problems that you may face?

Does it still have an affect on you today? If you have children, do you encourage them to be part of the same organizations? Has the organizations changed over the years?
